your inquiry
I fully understand any
reluctance to make a major purchase based on only photographic reference.
This is particularly true of sculpture due to the dimensional and tactile
nature of such work.
However, from time to
time such transactions can and do happen if one is unable to view a work
in place. For those few who have the confidence and ability to make
an educated judgement I will try my best to provide as much visual and other
data to help you with an informed decision.
One thing that cannot
be well conveyed with any photograph is the sense of presence that a work
may have. On the other hand, through the use of multiple views using
a digital camera, I can provide you with more visual information than is
offered on this page. Views with other objects showing the scale of
a work is sometimes helpful as well as details when
appropriate.
Responding to the serious
intent of a buyer I would make up a special set of pages accessible only
by you and these may be viewed on your own computer. Questions and
answers pertaining to a work of interest can be handled through email, special
web pages, fax and by phone.
This is the way that
commissions are normally handled, not only in the real
world but on the internet as well. It isn't too
common right now to purchase completed studio works the same way over the
internet for the time being. However, that is
slowly changing as collectors are becoming more accustomed to
this medium.
Feel free to ask any
question without having a sense of obligation. Initial inquiries are simply
that, a starting off place but not necessarily the beginning of a journey
and that's okay too.
