| I've put together a series of images, all relating in one form or another
to metal. All kinds of metal in all kinds of shapes and conditions.
The objective here is not to inventory what might be considered prime
examples of works created or manufactured in one form or another, but to
portray something of the uniqueness of metal. The motif or idea behind
this project is to define what I consider the character and personality of
inanimate objects left to their own devices over a period of time.
Every image has an example of metal in it, sometimes obvious sometimes not,
but it's always there, somewhere. Each photo has it's own story to
tell us which may be a true tale or a myth. When I photograph each
piece I do so in response to an intuitive feeling I may have when confronted
with the conditions of it's existance. It is a communion of spirit
between one who forms metal using hammer and forge and examples
of related works done by others.
