| Painted rocks, that's how I always considered these special stone formations
found all throughout the coves and bay areas of the Penobscot region. I
used to avidly collect photos of all the different forms that would be offered
up by either the receeding ocean or the changing light of the day.
In this small grouping I hope to share some of the experience that I derived from being in the presence of these magnificent patinated rocks. Rugged textures, rich and sometimes subtle colors all unique to a particular section of the coastline. This variagated journey was part of an annual visit many years ago and though this is no longer true, images of that past remain with me as if it was yesterday. Chris Ray
