This is the beginning of Loberlym's quest to find out more than there is to know.  He starts out with a simple question about his roots but is soon sent off on other adventures, helped along by several shamans and a griffin.  After a while it doesn't look like he'll find quite what he was looking for but something else instead.

In this section he is meeting with a special shaman after being sent to this high plateau region by another.

In the beginning he strikes me as a person that's  a  little rough around the edges, but we'll see how he shapes up later.

Here is an excerpt from a sample page:

"I'm known as Pieotrokoff, although some folks around here just call me Pieet." "Okay Pieet, if I may, what are we doing here and how come we're meeting in this place? Wouldn't having coffee in a diner somewhere or someplace else be just as good? Christ, I can't even get a drink of water around here." "You don't need any water or anything else, so why don't we stop the tough guy crap and just let me do what I was asked to do. All right?" "Sure, sure, anything you say pal."

illustration"Okay, that's better, so we might as well get on with it. Now tell me…..what do you see when you look out over there?" "Well, I can see everything, yet I can't be sure that I see anything. It's too bright to tell what it is that I'm looking at." "Right, it's too bright and that's what your problem is right now. You can't find your way because you can't see past that light, so I'm going to show you how to do that. But first we're going to walk around the rim of this place, .........(continued)

The writing is pretty rough for the first few journals (these are actually my work books) but does improve as time goes on.  The individual journals will be edited and improved upon when they are consolidated into single volume sets of fifteen journals or so.
