d i o N o t e s February 2000 This month I just uploaded two more exhibitions, one for Karen Jacobs, a painter and another for the drawings of Sarah Parker. I found both of these artists on the internet and was delighted with the find. The ArtTeach site has been redesigned and it feels much better to me now. It has a more open look and feel as well as better navigation than before. I've been surfing the net collecting scores of new links for this site and it's a very tedious process. I have to review each site so sometimes it just takes forever to collect even a dozen worthwhile links in the course of an evening. Oh well, this is something that's important to do and I'll just have to bear with it. I'm beginning to feel more like a file clerk though than a site developer. Maybe within a month or so that site will become a genuine resource for artists, at least through its linking features. I still haven't figured out how I'm going to impliment the learning features of the site though since that alone is more than a one person endeavor and it's going to require some financing to boot. I'm still thinking of what I can do in the meantime and will probably be able to include some workshops on metalworking if nothing else. I would like to include other media but that will have to wait until I can find a way to pay other instructors to participate. I feel pretty upbeat about the concept of the ArtTeach site and whether it becomes a financially viable venture or not is something that I'll just have to wait and see to find out. In the meantime I can support this with my own efforts and just try to do the best I can. Chris Ray
